True Blood follows the story of a young southern bell, Sookie Stackhouse, who lives in the town of Bon Temps, in which a number of supernatural events have been occurring. Since the “coming out” of vampires, in which these nocturnal beings have come out of hiding since the advent of the Japanese-invented blood substitute, eerie things have been occurring in this small town. People have been found murdered and townspeople have been seemingly cast under a spell. The series follows the show in a captivating, exciting, yet appropriately dark fashion, as we follow our heroine Sookie in her adventures with life and love. With powers of her own, she has dealt with her ability to read the minds of others throughout her life, unable to be fully comfortable with anyone as she continuously needs to concentrate to stop herself from reading other’s thoughts. However, with the arrival of the handsome vampire Bill Compton, she is able to finally be herself and their eventual love affair sparks controversy in the small town.
