Side effects of Nasonex nasal spray

Generally, Nasonex is used to treat sneezing, coughing, and other symptoms such as watery eyes. At times, some side effects might also occur, which can be controlled if you see a doctor on time. These complications range from mild to serious ones and it is advisable to take precautions when you start using this medication.   • Serious side effects: Some serious side effects of this drug include bleeding in the nose, shortness of breath, disturbances in vision, chills, vomiting and pinkeyes. Although these side are rare in nature, you might experience them and at times these side effects can be very serious and can damage your body.   • Moderate side effects: Side effects, which are moderate in nature are less serious but unpleasant. Around 25% of Nasonex users experience joint pain, sores, headache, sore throat and nausea.   • Rare side effects: These side effects only affect around 4% of users. Some rare side effects of Nasonex are asthma, ear ache, bronchitis and diarrhea. The doctor will either adjust your dose or change the medication by finding a good substitute for Nasonex.
  • Steroid toxicity: As mentioned above, Nasonex is one of the most toxic steroids and at times it leads to intoxication. The most common symptoms of Nasonex toxicity are changes in body weight, fluctuations in menstrual cycle, acne and stretch marks.   • Effects of dosage: Clinical trials have revealed that the side effects of Nasonex also depend on the dosage of the medication. Patients who were prescribed Nasonex 100 showed less side effects than those who were prescribed Nasonex 200.   • Warnings: In some cases, although rare, pediatric patients who use Nasonex suffer from stunted growth. Also, Nasonex nasal spray does not work well in combination with other medications, especially those which are used to treat tuberculosis and herpes.
