Speed Dating Vs Online Dating – They Both Stink

Just kidding! Well let me start off by saying I run both a speed dating and a online dating singles community. If you told me to chose between one or the other, I would have to say both. Singles would be smart to utilize both avenues for finding Mr. or Mrs. Right. Now I want to go into depth about what both consist of, the ups and the downs.

Up Side to Speed Dating

1. You seem them face to face and kind of get a feel for initial chemistry.
2. Most speed dating events only cost a maximum of $30 and you normally will have between 5 to 10 dates for $30. Well most men really like the idea of that.
3. Next most speed dates only last a maximum of 6 minutes, so if you don’t like someone you are not stuck with them all night.
4. If you have not dated in a while it can get you back in the swing of things.

Those are a few of the upsides to speed dating now I want to tell you about the downside. You will learn speed dating and online dating have about the same downsides.

Down Side to Speed Dating

1. First I would have to say that you only get a maximum of 6 minutes to get a feel for someone. That can be a bad thing because they maybe lying and that is not enough time to figure it out.
2. Depending on what kind of mixer you attend, there maybe a lot of different age groups at one event. You might end up getting dates with very young or very old. Normally in the heavily populated areas this is not a problem.
3. Next would be safety. I always have the women leave 5 to 10 minutes before the men, but not all speed dating businesses practice this. I prefer to have security at my events. You might watch out for this when attending mixers.

Now I would like to move onto to online dating.

Up Side to online dating

1. The most amazing part about online dating is there is never a shortage of people to meet.
2. Online dating gives you time to get to know someone on more of an intellectual level and not so focused on physical.
3. You can take your time to get know someone, no rush.
4. There is web cams and mics, so you do get to hear and see them.

Let’s move onto the down side to online dating.

1. People lie about what they may look like.
2. There is a lot of time involved in online dating, you could waste several months on someone, you meet and there is no chemistry.
3. Next would be the fact there are so many people on the internet.
4. Finding the right dating site, there are a lot of them.

That pretty much covers my top ups and downs of both speed dating and online dating.

I would like to now tell you how you can utilize both together. When I host an event I encourage the speed daters to join my free dating site. So instead of feeling pressured to immediately see their match again they can just take it online. At least now they know there is an initial chemistry between the two of them and they have seen each others physical appearance.

To sum it up both are excellent ways of meeting available singles. Just like any date you go on, take precautions not just physical but protect your heart as well.
