There are a lot of various products out there but they tend to fall into some rather broad categories which we will go over here so that you are armed with the information you need.

The major types of whitening options are toothpastes which contain a mild abrasive that will help you get some of the less tedious stains off of your teeth. There are trays which you put in and let your teeth sit in them for a few hours of the day. Most people choose to make this a nightly routine. Many companies make a gel or whitening strips that you can purchase without a prescription that work over a period of several weeks. And finally there are bleaches and rinses which tend to be a bit more drastic. Many folks do not use just one of these but instead try several to get the best and most rapid results that they can get.

You need to seriously look at what you are looking to accomplish, how long you want it to take and how much it is going to impact your daily routine. None of these are magic cures and all of them require a commitment of time and a change in routine to get the desired results
