Celebrating Its 65th Anniversary, Hardin Construction Company Urges

(1888PressRelease) Hardin Construction chose to volunteer around the country to celebrate its 65th anniversary by giving back to the community.

ATLANTA – Hardin Construction Company, LLC is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its founding, but you won’t find company execs and employees backslapping and blowing up balloons.

Rather, they are strapping on tool belts, donning work gloves and hard hats then fanning out, en masse, to work on community service projects from Texas to North Carolina, in cities where Hardin has branch offices.

Administrative assistants, superintendents, senior executives, and all associates are volunteering to let local nonprofit organizations call the shots while employees of Hardin-which customarily manages projects-serve as subcontractors, of sorts, as they build, paint, repair, sort food and labor for community initiatives during the week of May 16th. This scenario will play out in Atlanta, Austin, TX, Raleigh, NC, and Orlando and Tampa, FL.

All hands on deck
Company wide, about 80 percent of Hardin’s employees are taking part in the all-hands-on-deck Volunteer Days. At some jobsites in cities where Hardin does not have branch offices, project teams are organizing fundraisers to benefit charitable causes.

“We proudly acknowledge Hardin’s more than six decades of perseverance and success,” said Company Chairman Brantley Barrow. “But our celebration is not just about Hardin. It’s also about expressing, through our presence and service, Hardin’s deep appreciation to these communities for providing opportunities for Hardin and its people through the years. We also planned for our celebration to reflect values that are embedded in the Hardin culture-compassion and community involvement.”

Over the past two decades, for example, Hardin employees have raised and contributed more than $2 million to the March of Dimes, which has recognized Hardin among its Top Ten Corporate Partners in Georgia. And the Hardin Associates Charitable Foundation-established in 2007 and operated exclusively by Hardin employees-has contributed more than $150,000 in grant awards to charitable causes. Historically, about 75 percent of Hardin associates have served on their own time as community volunteers.

“Our project teams, including our subcontractors, have consistently contributed money and talent to many causes, from United Way and Boy Scouts of America to local initiatives for delivering toys to children for the holidays,” said Hardin President Bill Pinto. “Community service truly is one of the strengths of Hardin Construction.”

For the 65th anniversary Volunteer Days, Hardin attempted to match community needs and opportunities with Hardin’s values and expertise, including the following:
• Atlanta – Chattahoochee Nature Center
• Austin -Sunshine Camp-Lake Travis
• Orlando – Community Food Outreach Center
• Raleigh – Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
• Tampa – Nielsen Habitat House
