Checking in on Seniors While Making a Good Paycheck
Do you love talking to older people? They are like a walking history book full of life experience, knowledge and memories that are incredible. If you enjoy spending time with the elderly then starting your own elder care type of business can be a win-win situation. You win because you get to do something that you love. The older folks win because they get to spend time with someone who really cares about them.
Think about how many older people sit alone in their homes all day without visitors or anyone checking on them. Sure, they may get a phone call from their son or daughter a few times per week, but it can get really lonely living by yourself. Some older people may forget to take medications and even forget to eat. These people may not be in bad health or need home healthcare. They are not in bad enough shape to need a nursing home. They just need someone who cares to spend time with them and check on them a few times each week.
This is where you come in! You can set up a business where you charge a set fee each month to visit the older person, make sure they are taking their medications and any other tasks they need. Maybe they need you to take them to the grocery store or to get their hair done. Perhaps they need someone to take them shopping for Christmas gifts or they need a lunch partner sometimes. You could charge $250 or $500 or whatever per month to do this. Usually the family is who would hire you for these tasks. You can ramp this up as much as you want, or even add employees at some point! Just be sure to talk with your insurance company about what you need to cover yourself.
