Are office stamps still required?

It has long been stated that we should live in a paperless society, and that the use of computers would drive that target. If one visits offices it is entirely clear that the target has not been achieved and that paper still abounds. This use of paper will determine that for the time being office stamps will continue to have a place.

Post.

Businesses continue to receive volumes of post on a daily basis, and indeed many businesses still maintain post rooms. When the post is received it needs to date stamped and also to have the distribution marked on it. Maybe the post needs to be read by a number of staff and a rubber stamp is ideal for this, as it can be designed to have a template in it that will allow for a number of staff names to be entered, and for them to sign against this when the document has been read,

Dispatch.

Dispatch departments of many companies operate on a picking list and the staff will work to this, ticking off each item as it is loaded into a cage or onto a vehicle for delivery. Once the picking order is complete ,then a stamp will be applied indicating that the order has been fulfilled.

Good inwards.

As goods are delivered to warehouses there is now a growing tendency to read the delivery from bar codes, but the paperwork will still need to be signed to reassure the delivery driver on occasions. The rubber stamp will have the word ‘received’ on it and the stamp can be signed over. If there is a shortage or damage to the goods ,stamps can be designed to cover these eventualities.

Internal use.

In hospitals the ward office will carry a range of stamps to emphasise the importance of a number of documents and their urgency or the department they need to be delivered to.

The use for office stamps is endless and for those who produce them the business future seems bright.
