2 MBA students killed in car Accident Near Hosur

Two MBA students died and another injured seriously when their Ford Fiesta car hit a stationary lorry parked on the service road off Hosur Main Road near Attibele on Tuesday evening.

Police said all three were post-graduate students of business administration at Alliance Business Academy College in Chandapura off Hosur Road in Bangalore Rural district. “All three had gone on an outing as college declared a holiday today,” said a collegemate. He added that nobody knew where they were heading to.

The deceased are Shiboshish Mahapatra, 26, and P Srinivas, 26, both residents of Chandapura campus and hailed from Odisha, police said. The injured is Sumit Mishra, 25.

The bodies of the two victims were extricated after gas cutters were brought to the accident spot. “It took us nearly two hours to remove the bodies as they were caught inside the car which was wrecked. All three were reportedly drunk as it was evident from the way the car got smashed hitting a parked lorry. The car was coming from Hosur side,” police said.

The injured passenger Mishra, who was in an unconscious state, was rushed to a private hospital in Mangammanapalya near Madivala. His condition is stated to be critical.

“The hospital has conducted scanning of Mishra. Doctors will operate on him for suspected multiple fractures,” inspector Yelagaiah of Attibele police station said. He added that the doctors are still trying to find out whether he sustained head injuries.

The bodies of Mahapatra and Srinivas were kept at Victoria Hospital morgue for postmortem. “We are awaiting their relatives to arrive here to conduct the autopsy. We are trying to get the address and contact numbers of their family members from the college,” said a police officer.
