Dr Mehmet Oz and Acai Berry are forever connected in the mainstream media after saying that it was the best fruit for antioxidants. Thousands of consumers search online trying to find out who is Dr. Oz and what did he say about acai berries.

Dr. Oz is an extremely trained medical doctor who pretty much shot to fame after having a few segments on the Oprah show. Dr. Oz, who is also an established author, was talking to the viewers about different food items and why they were advantageous for you.

He talked about blueberries and how they were great for the reason that they had antioxidants, something that we all require. But, then he mentioned that there was a new fruit that was actually better than blueberries called acai.

In the rare case that you’ve never heard of acai, it’s a small fruit about the size of an average grape that grows in the Amazon. The berry has been gleaned there for hundreds of years and remains a huge part of the diet for the local population.

Acai has now gained national attention for its very high level of age fighting antioxidants, as well as other healthy ingredients like essential fatty acids, fiber, and protein. Dr. Oz explained why antioxidants were so important to us by using two pieces of apple. On one piece of the apple he sprinkled some lemon juice.

Over time, the apple without the lemon juice became old and brown in color, while the other piece with lemon juice continued to be almost new. The doctor shared how this is technically what happens inside our bodies from long term exposure to free radicals and oxidation. Our eyes, skin, and heart become older, sooner.

Acai berry not only has antioxidant benefits but it is also good for those who want to lose weight without starving themselves. With just including Acai berry into your diet, you will definitely lose a few pounds in just a short period of time.
