Finding Your IMEI Number
Mobile phone recycling is a very easy process to complete, but there is one area that you will need to know. This is finding your phone’s IMEI which sounds a lot more complicated than it is. When you are registering with the site and going through the process of trading in your old phone, you will have to find this number and give it to the website. All you have to do is enter *#06# on the keypad of your old mobile phone. It will then automatically display the IMEI number. To continue with your process to sell your mobile, you should enter this number into the relevant box provided. The IMEI is your mobile’s unique identification number. It assures the company that the mobile you are trying to get money for is the same mobile phone you are sending back.
If you want to sell your mobile but it is not operational, you can still retrieve the IMEI number because it is printed somewhere on the phone. Different models have it printed in different places, but it is always there and should be generally very easy to find. Be mindful however, that this number is not printed on the battery. The battery is a removable component, so the IMEI number will be printed directly onto the phone itself.
The number can typically be found on the back of your phone, or if you own an iPhone, it should be printed on the SIM gate. This isn’t always the case with iPhones, but the overwhelming majority have it printed here. If you are unsure which is your IMEI number, or if there are other numbers printed around the same area, you should count the number of digits in the number. An IMEI number has exactly 15 digits.
