MTV – for the love of music
MTV has been an icon of the music industry for the past couple of decades. It refers to Music television and is an American Cable Television Network company based out of New York City. The company was launched in the year 1981 and in the initial stages was focused on airing video based music videos. The company used a VJ for this purpose who guided the music that was being aired on the channel. Right from the time of its inception MTV has had a very profound impact on the music industry. It changed the way music was perceived by the people. In fact, MTV was the first company to revolutionize the concept of a VJ.
Today, MTV broadcasts a wide range of music programs on it channel and has in fact spread its wings to different parts of the globe. The company has been bringing music programs that have a mix of local music as well as international music. At the time of its launch, the company offered a platform for both the artist as well as the fans. For the artist MTV provided a platform for showcasing his music and talent. For the music lover, MTV was a centralized platform which offered the fan a wide range of programs to choose from like music events, music promotions and news.
