Some points to take note about Lenses

Colored lenses:

Colored lens sunglasses are often seen in many popular sunglass brands. What’s up with the color? Colors are applied to the lenses of your shades. These colors help absorb light as it goes through the lenses. There are a lot of different colors available although there are also some points to consider as each color also has their own advantage. To name a few: Green lenses reduce glare and can help filter blue color light. It can also give good contrasts and is often used in tennis as it can help make the color yellow – color of the tennis ball, more noticeable and emphasized. Blue lenses are also ideal for sports like tennis since it accentuate contrast. Gray and Brown lenses are ideal for sports like Cycling, Running, Golf and Water related activities. Gray and brown lenses reduce glare and brightness but do not distort the color. There are also colored lenses that have correcting features as there are also sunglasses that act as reading aids or visual aids.

Polarized Lenses:

With polarized lenses the usual glass like scene becomes a scene of deep colors and high contrast. These lenses reduce or remove glare and improve the quality of objects or the scene. This can be very advantageous as sunglasses for fishermen doing their job in broad daylight as it can reduce glare from water. Vision aids or just plain eyewear polarized lenses are preferred. Then again that’ll be all up to you.
Mirrored Lenses:

When someone mentions the word “mirrored”, conventional mirrors, magnifying glasses, magnifier with lamps are a few of the many sight-related things that would pop up on one’s mind. If you have come across that popular sunglass with a mirror finish – that…is the mirrored lens. Mirrored lenses though are just second to polarized when it comes to glare reduction they also scratch easily but they are hip.
Photo chromic Lenses
These are the lenses that become darker when they are exposed the sun’s rays or with UV radiation. It acts like an auto detect lens wherein the lens automatically gets darker when under UV radiation changing your vision through the lens from dark to dim.
Interchangeable Lenses
Many sport sunglasses have lenses that are interchangeable. When you buy such type of sunglass, it can either already come with a set of additional lenses or you can purchase a set of lenses separately. The great thing about interchangeable lenses is you can have them customized. It also relieves you of the tiresome task of carrying more than a few sunglasses every time you need one when traveling.
