Welcome signs can be used to greet your guests.
Give your guests a warm welcome with a welcome sign at the door to greet them. These welcome signs can be created by both adults and children to give that added personal touch to the way your guests are greeted. Welcome home signs can be created to match the season and often require just one trip to your local craft store for the supplies you will need.

Spring Fence Welcome Sign

A craft that the children can help out with is the spring fence welcome sign. This craft requires a permanent paint pen marker, glue, ribbon, craft foam in different colors, flower patterns, a wooden arch piece and a pre-made fence pattern made from wood that you can get at your local craft store. Foam pieces will be cut into different flower petal shapes and glued to the front of your wooden fence while ribbon will be glued to the back of the fence with about 4 to 6 inches of space left at the top to tie a bow for hanging. The wooden arch piece can be painted and then used to write “Welcome” or another message to greet your guests and glued to the top of the ribbon.

Changeable Welcome Signs
A welcome sign that changes with the holidays or seasons can be a nice surprise for your guests. Create a simple change-out sign by purchasing a pre-made plaque from your local craft store, Velcro, glue and pre-made wooden crafts that resemble pumpkins, American flags, flowers, butterflies, Christmas trees and other items for seasons or holidays. Glue decorative ribbon to the back of your plaque and use to hang on your door. Paint your pre-made wooden craft pieces with appropriate colored paints and glue a piece of Velcro to the back of each one. Glue a receptor piece of Velcro to your plaque. Depending on the season or holiday, Velcro your decorated wooden piece to the front of your welcome sign and change those out as different holidays or seasons come about.

Beach Signs
This type of welcome sign can be very rustic and requires a few sea shells, a piece of wood, rope, paint, sand and some glue. Start by creating a square border on your piece of wood with rope that has been glued down. At the bottom interior of your border, place a thin layer of glue and pour sand over it. Remove the excess sand and glue down your sea shells. Finish off your sign with “Welcome” painted on the front and hang on your door.

Tiled Stones
A welcome sign does not have to hang from your door. Placing a rock with a welcome sign on it in front of your entrance can be just as appealing. Purchase a large stone and tile pieces from your local lawn supply store as well as heavy tile glue. Use tiles to spell out “Welcome” or your family name on the front of the large stone and place on your porch to greet your guests
