·         CRT
CRT or rather Cathode Ray Tube television was the standard television option for decades. It is bulky and large and has a lower picture quality. The notable feature of this type of television is their lifespan. They can operate without any maintenance for 20 years.

·         DLP
DLP stands for Digital Light Projection. These TVs have long lifespan and is a good choice for those who want high end with a large screen. Though DLPs are as expensive as LCDs and Plasmas, they cannot be hung on the wall.

·         LCD
LCD or Liquid Crystal Display televisions are thin and very light. Since these televisions have non-reflective screen, it helps to reduce glare. They have a long lifespan and do not require any maintenance. However, in LCD televisions the picture quality is found to suffer a bit when it comes to dark scenes and fast action scenes.

·         PDP
PDP is Plasma Display Panel televisions and they are extremely thin and lightweight. They produce superb quality images and are found to render dark scenes and fast action scenes much better than LCDs. However, their drawbacks are reflective screens, high-energy use and image burns.

·         LED
LEDs are Light Emitting Diode televisions. LEDs are a kind of LCD without its weaknesses. It has a lifespan of 30 years and is extremely thin and lightweight. The quality of the picture is excellent and it consumes very little energy.
