Boston Pianos
Boston pianos are fantastic pianos. They are manufactured by Kawai who have been making pianos since 1927. However, they are designed by Steinway & Sons, who are widely considered to be the best piano makers in the world. They have been making pianos since 1853, although the founder Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg (later known as Henry E. Steinway) made his first piano in 1835.
Steinway & Sons have won a huge array of awards including dozens of gold medals. They have a well-deserved reputation for being innovative piano designers. Over the years, the company has come up with over 135 different patented ideas, all of which improved upon the basic design of pianos.

The result of this were the Boston and Essex ranges, which they had made under licence by Kawai. The fact that Kawai uses state of the art technology enables them to meet Steinway’s exacting standards. The idea was to produce a high quality piano for a mid-range price and this is exactly what they achieved.
The Boston Pianos Range
There are several models available, so there is a piano in the range that is suitable for every kind of piano player. They offer five sizes of grand piano and three sizes of upright pianos.
The first Boston piano became available in 1992, and proved so popular that now they make and sell over 5,000 per year. In 2009, they introduced a Performance Edition which had a grand inner rim made from maple. Understandably, Boston pianos are very popular pianos with all kinds of piano players.
