GU plans mag for Dr. Trivedi’s farewell

Dr Parimal Trivedi’s six-year tenure as vice-chancellor of Gujarat University was an eventful one. Power packed is perhaps the best adjective to describe his time at the top post of the varsity.

Dr Trivedi is set to vacate the V-C’s chair in June this year and Gujarat University has planned a befitting farewell. The varsity has invited principals of affiliated colleges and senate members to share their interactions with him in a few words.

These anecdotes will be put together in GU’s in-house newsletter – ‘Vidyavrutt’. As heard on the grapevine, this edition of the newsletter will be printed in colour unlike black and white newsprint every month.

As per information available, a letter has been issued to principals and senate members to write a piece on Dr Trivedi and his tenure as V-C at GU.

A principal of an affiliated college was amused to receive such a request from GU.

“I don’t remember for which former V-C something of this sort was done. This is probably the first time V-C would boast of his achievements on completion of his tenure,” said the principal.

“Interestingly, online positive responses about the V-C will be published. Those writing on negative aspects (of Dr Trivedi) will not find space in the newsletter,” he added.
