Why should I use a UK printing company?

With the current economic situation and the financial crisis, companies tend to spend less and less money in printed materials. One of the solutions they think will save them money is to print their document in-house with their office printer. But, even if it looks cheaper at the first glance it is not always the case and printing in-house has many disadvantages. Moreover, digital printers now offer very affordable prices to print many different types of marketing materials rapidly and they guarantee a good printing quality. Not sure about this? Here are listed the reasons why printing in-house is not as good as using a digital printer.

Disadvantages of printing in-house

1)    In-house printing often does not provide comparable printing quality

Even if your office has a good laser printer, the printing quality will never be as good as commercial digital printing and especially as high as the HP Indigo can offer. Indeed, office printers are made to print general office documents that do not require excellent printing quality. But for your sales letter, brochures or leaflets you need the best printing quality available because your document will reflect the company`s image. And a bad printing quality can ruin your brand image. So traditional in-house printing will not provide you good enough quality printing for your marketing materials.

2)    Only certain materials can be printed in-house

Most of office printers can produce mainly A4 documents and only on certain types of papers. But what if you want to print business cards, an A5 postcard on 350gsm paper or an A3 poster on gloss paper? This is not possible because of the format of the paper type or it will provide you a very bad printing quality whereas digital printers can easily print on many different formats and on more than 800 types of paper.

3)    In-house printing is not that cheap

In-house printing seems to be cheap because it does not require a supplier and it reduces shipment costs. But you still have to buy the paper and the ink to print your materials. And most office printers are very ink consuming so it can easily become expensive if you print a certain amount of documents. Moreover, if you need to cut and fold the paper it requires special expensive equipments. Digital printers, as printing professionals buy high quality papers and inks at cheaper prices and that is partly why they offer good quality printed materials at low cost. Also a commercial digital printer will have print finishing equipment and high speed printing machines.
