How to Deal with the Many Steps of Pregnancy

Many women who become pregnant these days are not as well informed about what to do in the next 9 months as they should be.  Getting pregnant is very serious business and it could be disastrous if you don’t know the things you have to do in order to keep it healthy.  They do not realize that there are tons of things that they need to start and stop doing for the next year because they may either help or hurt the baby they are about to have.  Many soon to be mothers are very on top of things and they read books and go to the doctor so they are very informed.  But other women might not be in the same financial situation and they are having trouble getting the best advice.  They might be simply asking family members for advice and it might be wrong a lot of the time.

The best way to prepare for the next nine months is to go to your nearest library and check out as many books as possible about pregnancy and get to researching as much as you can.  Many books will tell you to make up something called a pregnancy checklistThis will make it much easier for you to keep track of all the things you need to do in order to keep your baby as healthy as possible.  On this checklist should be the things that you cannot do and the things you have to do on a monthly or weekly basis.  Things like not being able to smoke or drink and coffee should be at the top of the list in bold so that you don’t forget.  It is very easy to slip up when you are pregnant and it can be difficult to catch yourself doing something you are used to doing for years.

Also, doctors will tell you to take prenatal vitamins, to stretch every single day, and to keep your back as loose as possible.  You should be exercising lightly almost every day and you should be keeping up with your nutrition without overeating if though you are eating for two.  So after checking that fertility chart and using that pregnancy test, the next steps are to plan out your next 9 months very carefully in order to ensure that your routine is good for the baby and yourself.  Allowing yourself some extra time to do things you love will also keep the stress from becoming overwhelming.  After you have your baby, you can have everything you want again.  You just have to make it through nine months.
