Decision making model analysis paper

There are a number of decision making models available and most of them have the same
themes but they way or number if steps to proceed with them might be different. The model
I will be analyzing and then applying to my decision making is called PLUS decision
making model and it has 6 steps to go about making a decision.
“Six Steps to Ethical Decision Making
Step 1: Define the problem PLUS
Step 2: Identify alternatives
Step 3: Evaluate the alternatives PLUS
Step 4: Make the decision
Step 5: Implement the decision
Step 6: Evaluate the decision PLUS” (ERC, 2008)
Decision making models are designed with a purpose to let the worker decide on their own about their work and future this leads to the provision of healthy worker to a company, like they only come to work when it is out of their own interest. Other reasons to have a decision making model is to decrease the amount of disappointments worker have from their wok ad it improves the quality and quantity ultimately. This model has to have certain integrity points in it in order to make sure that the model that is making us decide about our life is an authentic one. It has to be “fundamentally sound based on current theories of decision making processes and ethics, it should be straightforward enough that it could be easily integrated into every employee’s thought processes and it should be descriptive rather than prescriptive”.( ERC, 2008). Now I will apply this model to my recent decision of picking a job. It was a job for a front desk secretary. In which as a first step I identify the problem which was my need for a good job with a good income. Then the net thing which was the second step was to narrow down my option for making good money in less number of hours with less efforts of learning new task but rather using my own inherent skills to get a job. There were a number of options but since I know that I have a good training of communication skills and I have my inherent quality of communicating better I opted for this job. Apart from this the number of hours was less and there were no night duty which was also there in my priority list. I evaluated the other alternatives as well including thinking about the positive aspects of this job. Other jobs either had more number of hours, payment was not satisfactory or public dealing and social interaction was less in them which obviously did not suit me. After thinking about everything I decided for the job of a front desk receptionist. I started working on my appearance to make it more presentable, my communication skills to be more comfort for the listeners, my competence at the language of conduct, and public dealing skills in order to implement my decision.
