3 Huge Mistakes Most Affiliates Make
We all know there is potential out there to make a more than average living by simply affiliate marketing. The thing is most people out there never manage to get their email opened by their prospects never mind get them to buy the product. The reason this is happening is they don’t understand how to think like their potential customers and this will hurt their reputation with their lists, meaning those emails go straight to the deleted items. Below I will explain 3 mistakes most new affiliates make when trying to earn a living through affiliation.
Firstly, most affiliate marketers out there do not have their subscribers interests at heart, they think purely about the profit at the end of the day. This is the total wrong way to go, you must first build up a reputation with your list by giving your list content which they will benefit from. That is very important, always make sure that everything you give your list will benefit them in some way. This brings us on to our next mistake.
Secondly, they constantly promote sub-standard products. Going back to the thinking like a customer, if you received an email every day which says that the next big thing to make money is available now, only for you to go check out the product and realise it is simply another poor product to go with the other hundreds out there, would you be happy? I am guessing the answer is a massive NO. You probably would unsubscribe from the list after a while to save yourself the hassle of deleting these emails. The key to making sales is to promote products you are 100% sure will benefit your list, if you are not 100% sure, then simply leave it as your reputation with your list is everything in affiliate marketing. Provide decent products, make decent profits.
Finally, most affiliates are lazy, if they get given the material on the affiliates page of a product they will simply copy and paste this into their won email broadcaster and wait for the money to come in. What they do not realise is that their subscribers may also be subscribers with another affiliate of the same product, if a subscriber is a member of 5 affiliates list who all use the copy/paste affiliate materials available to them, they will get bombarded with 5 of the exact same emails all at the same time from 5 different subscribers. This would annoy me so I am pretty sure I am accurate in saying it annoys subscribers as well. By all means use these materials, they are there to help, but make sure that you put your own spin on it, change the titles or subject lines, and change the main body of text, this could as much as double the referrals you receive.
It is unquestionable that affiliate marketing is an extremely good way of making money online, but only if you do it correctly. Now you know the 3 biggest mistakes keep these in minds during your next big promotion, keep subscribers’ interests at heart, make sure it is a decent product and never use copy/past materials and watch those referrals rise, shortly followed by your affiliate commissions.
