He has flown twice in Malawi, Africa to provide medical assistance to the people through hospital and clinic visits. He also gave a lecture at Daeyang Luke Hospital to share his knowledge on AIDS nephropathy essential for the improvement of their clinical services. Dr. Frymoyer is truly determined to promote better health among patients and their families. It was heartbreaking scene to see a person suffer from a certain disease like malaria. This pushed him to double his efforts and reach for the most remote areas in the province. His team used to travel many miles from their transient house just to provide Malawians medical attention that they needed to prevent any serious threat on their life.
The New York-based physician has deep passion for medicine and community services. Despite of the fact that he is already successful and such an expert, he humbles himself by learning on every experience he had in Africa. He was really amazed by the dedication that care givers put in their work to fill in all of the insufficiencies they encounter along the way. One of which is the lack of complete education about care giving or also known as nursing assistant, which in the US nursing assistants are required to be certified. Dr. Paul Frymoyer was impressed about the staff’s exceptional skills in performing clinical duties and this is because they are self-motivated people. Apart from that, they are also familiar on how to operate complicated equipment used for HIV testing.
As Dr. Frymoyer continues to travel around the city, his team encountered various kinds of diseases. These include cases of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other serious cases. The team basically held medical check ups for those who are in need of medical attention. And the people are in deep gratitude for their aid. In return, the natives have given them some entertainment like a couple of singing and dancing sessions. This made the team very comfortable during their stay in the province. They also noticed that Malawians are very resourceful and remains positive on their outlook in life despite the many diseases they could suffer from. This has inspired Dr. Paul Frymoyer and his team of medical students to do a lot of hard work and to take risk despite having many threats in the way.
