Learn Magic, Reawaken The Dream, And Create Hungry Fans Eager To See Your Next Trick
When most of us are kids, we love to watch a magician perform wonderful tricks for us. Many of us try and learn some simple magic tricks, and in the massive attention rich environment that we call childhood, we quickly forget our plans to be world class magicians.
If you still have a desire somewhere to be able to walk up to strangers on the street and quickly captivate their attention and lead it in such a way as to powerfully impress them and their friends, then you’ve come to the right place. I’ll give you a couple of tips to restart that dream that you once had. The good news is that it is much easier than you thought.
Of course, the first thing you’ll need to do is learn some basic magic tricks. This is probably the easiest part. It only takes a few hours of practicing in front of a mirror to learn enough skills to start creating your own magic tricks to fit any situation. There is one skill that many beginners overlook, one skill that can separate you from all the other would be magicians.
Public speaking. Yes, you read that right. All skilled magicians also have excellent public speaking skills. In order to direct peoples attention, you’ll need to develop what’s called a “patter,” or that mesmerizing speaking that magicians do while performing their tricks. Many magicians simply tell engaging and mesmerizing stories while doing their tricks, so everybody is watching their face, and not their hands.
The best way to get good at this skill is to simply practice. Join clubs, like toastmasters, or take a public speaking class at your local Junior College. One thing about public speaking, is that although it is generally feared by most people, once you get comfortable with it, you will notice your self-confidence soar to unimaginable heights.
These two “simple” skills may seem a bit daunting at first, but when you take the time to realize the powerful and positive effects you can have on people, and how much pleasure you can create, it makes it all worthwhile. The next step is to simply get started.
