What Can I Take For Nausea While Pregnant?

Nausea is a usual symptom of pregnancy during the first weeks. It usually starts in the 5 – 8 weeks and disappears in 2 – 3 months. However there are women that suffer from pregnancy nausea till the 7 month but it’s not that common. So what can you take for nausea while pregnant to ease it a little bit or even better, get rid of it? There are few tips I can share that will help you. Let’s just start.

The first thing to do prevent morning sickness, or pregnancy nausea, is to eat a snack or a small meal before getting up from the bed. It’s very important because your blood sugar level is very low after all the night without eating anything, and a low blood sugar aggravates pregnancy nausea. Make sure to stay in the bed for at least 15 minutes after eating and only then get up!

Strong odors like perfume, odors of cooking food should be avoided. You’ve probably noticed that there are some smells that make you feel nauseous so you probably want to stay away from these smells.

Sniffing mint – that one can help you to stop pregnancy nausea in less then a minute. If you could get somewhere mint crystals it could be perfect, but I have no idea if you can actually buy them anywhere. A good alternative could be a mint essential oil, but you have to be careful because it is very strong so don’t be surprised if it will cause some burning feeling up your nose. Just make sure to keep it away from your eyes!

Icy drinks – I now it’s winter out there but icy drinks can be very helpful for nausea while pregnant. The 2 I know work the best – lemonade and passion fruit! In winter I would suggest you to drink it only when you are in warmed space so there is no chance you’ll catch cold or something worse!

These methods are extremely helpful but they don’t always help.
