Chicken Recipes For Christmas – A Better Choice?

Chicken is the world’s primary source of animal protein and a healthy alternative to red meat.

Not only delicious, it is also versatile; roasted, poached, broiled or grilled – whatever the occasion or guest, you’re sure to find something to please everyone.

With the festive season in full swing, we’ll be starting to look at how to make this Christmas a bit different to the last.

Whilst turkey has long been the meat of choice, many of us will be trying new things this year – in particular, chicken.

Before we look at some chicken recipes for Christmas, let’s consider what chicken can offer us.

Why is chicken good for me?

Where some of us are focused on our diets in the early months of the year, only for our focus to dwindle by spring – the majority of us are constantly looking to make sure we are putting only good into our bodies.

This is not only to stay trim, but also to help our hearts and overall wellbeing.

A common way of promoting a healthier lifestyle is to replace certain foods with the healthier version. In this case, a lot of people chose to replace red meat with chicken.

This is because chicken has less than half the fat of a trimmed T-bone steak, with the breast being the most dietary part of the chicken, with its overall fat content being less saturated than that of beef.
