Assisted living can change people for good.

I’m a normal girl, I’m 26 years old and I’m studying to become a nurse. I would like to work at an  assisted living facility  and help senior people. Since I was a baby I was raised by my grandparents, when I was 16 years old my grandma died and when I was 20 years old my grandpa died. Before his death, he was pretty ill, so I took care of him as he did when I was a baby and my parents were absent. I gave him everything he needed up to the moment of his death. After that I realized that I feel like I’m in a debt to them, because they gave me the best times of my life, they always took care of me and they loved me so much. In ways I feel better about myself by  helping senior people who need help.  I know that a lot of these people did important things in the past, and made huge sacrifices like my grandparents with huge acts of love.  A few times a week I go to an assisted living home, located close to my home, where I want to work in the future. I visit all the seniors and I actually have a lot of friends there. Senior people are loyal, interesting, and warm, and from my point of view assisted living homes are the best option for them. In assisted living places they have everything they need, comfort, attention, people their own age, fun, activities, etc. I’ve talked to a lot of people and they are pretty satisfied with all the facilities of assisted living places. They have freedom, they have comfort, they have company, the air inside the assisted living is clean and fresh. People use to change once inside the assisted living, as Gregory, he’s a 80 years old man from Texas. He used to live alone in a small apartment, and he used to be mean and rude. His daughter (now, she’s a friend of mine) thought that maybe the idea of Gregory living in a assisted living would change his bad mood, and it was exactly what happened. Gregory just needed more company and attention, and more comfort. He just needed what he deserved. Now, Gregory is one of my friends, and he is very sweet, sometimes he has a strong personality, but we spend a lot of nice times together. I can’t wait to start working in that assisted living facility,  working  there with my own friends will be fantastic. I would love to help them with whatever they need, just as current nurses do.
