Handling of Eccentric Shaft Fault in Cone Crusher

Handling of Eccentric Shaft Fault in Cone Crusher

When the cone crusher works, the electrical motor drives the eccentric sleeve to rotate through the horizontal axis and a pair of bevel gear, the axis line does the rotary pendulum movement under the force of the eccentric sleeve, making the surface of the crushing wall sometimes near and sometimes leave the surface of the acetabular wall, so that the ore is crushed by squeezing and bending in crushing cavity. Therefore, the eccentric shaft plays an important role in the cone crusher.

The following is the five major reasons for eccentric shaft failures:
1. Cone crusher can usually run for a long time, but the time should be within a certain range. If the machine continues high-intensity work in a bad working condition, it can lead to eccentric shaft failure.

2. In the installation and transportation process of cone crusher, if the machine is not put in a right position, it may rollover, resulting in the discontinuity of eccentric shaft and the formation of the bending phenomenon.

3. If the compressive strength of the materials to be crushed is greater than the prescribed range of values it can withstand, the eccentric shaft of cone crusher would fracture due to the large workload.
4. The problem in the eccentric shaft technology production process. In the manufacturing process of eccentric shaft, if the heat treatment is inappropriate and the stress is not well dispersed, it will results in fracture when the equipment load is increased.
5. The bracket part of cone crusher plays the role of protecting the equipment. When the materials which cannot be broken enter into the crushing chamber, in order to protect the equipment, the bracket will stop the operation. If the bracket is non-conforming, it will lead to the eccentric shaft damage.

Generally speaking, the failures of eccentric shaft are in the bending or fracture eccentric shaft parts. When the eccentric shaft is not working properly, the machine cannot be in normal crushing operations. So it is necessary to find the crux of the problem to avoid the failures. I hope that the five reasons summarized above could be helpful to the customers.
