The Great Mentor | Recovery in the Pines
Employee and executive mentoring is the best way to share knowledge, experience, and expertise throughout any organization or order where training is necessary. The same holds true for recovery from drugs and alcohol.
Mentoring pairs talented, experienced individuals with promising, less experienced individuals. Over time, working one-on-one, the mentor and mentored, and the organization or order reaps real rewards.
Mentoring programs have existed in the business world for many, many years, and are prevalent and popular for training of new employees. Mentorship is often practiced in learning institutions as tutoring programs. They can be as specific and as expansive as needed for training purposes.
The origins for mentoring have older and deeper roots than modern business or education. For you and me, it has a Divine origin, which can be seen in Jesus Christ our Lord, the Apostles of Jesus Christ, and the servant leaders of the Body of Christ for themselves, and for those they were tasked to teach and train, note:
Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
1 Corinthians 11:1 “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.”
Philippians 2:5 “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”
Philippians 3:17 “Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.”
2 Timothy 2:2 “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
Hebrews 13:7 “Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.”
My dear brethren, the body of the New Testaments work is to provide a comprehensive and transformational mentoring program, note:
Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
To trust this program of intimate sharing and training is to know (trust) that it can take us from the lowly creatures that we are, and transform us into the image of glory through the knowledge of Him our King!
James 1:25 “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” Put your trust in the Great Mentor; know and follow His teaching!
Hebrews 5:8-9 “though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him”
