War of Worlds: Cooking and Playing Guide

Do you love your favorite mystical creature from World of Warcraft? Well why not eat like them? Now you can go a step beyond your typical homemade cooking. You can eat any number of foods that are seen in the game. Why not try Goblin deviled Clams? And then there are more interesting foods, such as those that turn you into a ninja or allow you to breathe fire. You can make World of Warcrat dishes in the real world as well.

What could possibly be better than ‘pwning newbs’ dresses as a pirate or a ninja? In the World of Warcraft, all you have to do is help yourself to a serving of Savory Deviate Delight. You can learn how to cook this dish from a helpful cook who has the fish and knows how to prepare it. If you buy the dish from AH be prepared to spend several gold for a stack of 20 dishes or so. The recipe usually sells for well over 20 gold. The fish alone, seem to see for a higher price than the finished dishes. Its almost impossible to farm a copy of the recipe on your own. You could kill hundreds of mobs and never see it. But once you have a recipe all you need is the fish and some mild spices. You can either catch the fish or buy them. You can get the spices from your friendly trade goods vendor, unless it’s a Blood Elf.

There are other recipes that are very interesting, such as Dragonbreath Chili. You can breathe fire on your opposition and stop them in their tracks with your truly foul breath. Well, it won’t quite stop them, but it’s a very cool effect.

While Savory Deviate Delight require a cooking skill of 85, Dragonbreath Chili requires 200. You will need to get the recipe from several vendors. You will also need Mystery Meat, Small Flame Sacs, and some Hot Spices. Cook it all up and you’re good to go. The buff will last for ten minutes and you’ll be able to breathe fire at your opponent at random times.

Get the big buff with Spicy Crawdad and Fisherman’s Feast. Both of these delicious dishes require a cooking skill of 350. They both provide a Stam Buff of 30 and a 20 point Spirit buff. They both restore health at 7500. But there’s some argument to which is “better,” but that depends on which is easier for you to acquire. The Fisherman’s Feast recipe can be found from a barmaid located in Shattrath, in a tavern. The ingredient you will need are 1 Huge Spotted Felltail, 5 Goldenbark Apples, and 5 Soothing Spices. The spices and apples are easy to find and can be obtained from fruit vendors. But the Felltail is a pretty rare drop.

SpicyCrawdad might be an all around easier recipe, depending on your ability to fly. If you can fly, you can get the recipe in Stonebreaker Hold in Terokkar Forest and then you will have to travel a bit. A flying mount or flying ability is required to get the recipe. In addition you’ll need a fishing skill of at least 405. And that is just to cast a fishing line. 475 is recommended so that not too many get away. You will have to look for pools or nodes for your Furious Crawdads. They are called “Highland Mixed School.” These pools can be found in three elevated lakes in Terokkar Forest. The lakes that they are found in are called Blackwind Lake (near Skettis), Lake Ere’Noru (above Allerian Stronghold), and Lake Jorune (above Stonebreaker Hold.)

Why not WoW cook in the real world? Take the in-game cooking and bring it to the real world. You can invite your gamer friends over for dinner and feed them your very own Savory Deviate Delight, Dragonbreath Chili, or even Delicious Cave Mold cookies. Well skip the mold!
