Therapy For Troubled Teens | Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services

Struggling youth who present challenges to parents and/or professionals often have diagnoses that remain unclear with obscure plans for treatment. In order to receive an appropriate therapy and treatment program, an accurate and complete diagnosis is needed. A professional team can bring clarity of diagnosis and assist in placing a troubled teen in the most appropriate setting to best suit his or her needs.

The Aspen Institute for Behavioral Assessment is a unique resource that provides parents and professionals with extensive teen assessment services, as well as comprehensive and dynamic therapy and treatment programs. Aspen’s assessment process provides crucial data that leads to specific and actionable recommendations for a master treatment plan and the best possible follow-up care.

Troubled teens may be in need of short-term crisis stabilization, in addition to long-term treatment protocols. One teen’s diagnostic picture and associated interventions or services may be moderately transparent. Some teens, however, present a more complex picture and are ideal candidates for the assessment services offered at Aspen.

Following assessment and diagnosis, The Institute provides not only prescriptive short- and long-term treatment protocols, but starts the teen on a treatment regimen. Therapies for troubled teens provided by The Aspen Institute include: individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, family therapy, psychopharmacological therapy, milieu therapy, and behavior management. These therapy and treatment programs have been designed to integrate a variety of modalities into a comprehensive and dynamic treatment whole.

Frequent exposure to licensed professionals is a significant contributing factor to a teen’s therapeutic success. At minimum, each week at The Aspen Institute, teens have three 50 minute individual therapy sessions and five 60 minute group therapy sessions with licensed therapists. Therapists are also on-site daily and available as needed.

A teen that remains undiagnosed, with no specific, actionable treatment plan, will continue to struggle with his behavior. One with a clear and accurate diagnosis in conjunction with a professionally prescribed treatment plan will have a much higher chance of success. When parents enroll their adolescent or teen at the Aspen Institute, they can do so with the confidence and knowledge that they will receive a specific and custom diagnosis and treatment plan for their child.

The goal of The Aspen Institute is to provide the highest quality of care with the greatest degree of compassion and respect. Problematic behaviors are often symptoms of underlying issues and our goal is to uncover the root cause of these behaviors, and to provide thoughtful and individual treatment options.
