“I have a problem: if the G-Drive is connected when OSX is (re-) started, the G-Drive is not recognized, but if it is then disconnected and re-connected it is recognized. Apart from this, the G-Drive serves me well.”
“Extremely easy to setup right out of the box. Bought the item for its perfect hard drive size, compactness affordability, easy mobility and FireWire 400/800 interface capability. However, it seems to have major issues with Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and disturbs the ability for one user to logout or switch to another user. Thus, the whole hard drive has to be shut off first and often the Mac has to be completely rebooted. Due to this major inconvenience, I’ve given this product just an okay rating.”

“I’ve been using my Mini for about two years now, originally taking it everywhere with a Macbook Pro, but now I generally use it to carry project data between workstations.
It’s a solidly built drive, and I’ve edited four channels of 1080imulticam footage over firewire with no problems whatsoever. It’s been totally reliable, and I can’t recall an instance where it’s ever not done its job!
My one hang-up isn’t necessarily G-Tech’s fault, but OSX seems to forget about my firewire drives sometimes and disconnects them if the computer has been asleep for too long. But this is a problem with all of my fire wire drives, so don’t let it deter you.”
“As a working DJ I trust my mini to work flawlessly at the clubs, which it has done from time to time. The exterior provides great protection as well as the case that is provided to transport. The only thing that I could complain about is the power switch. It looks and feels flimsy, and will probably be the first thing to break. However, overall a great product.”
