Relevance of a QA course in on-job training

A QA or quality assurance course covers different aspects of quality assurance and analysis. In any organization, the steady progress of various departments rests with the quality assurance team. For this reason on-job QA training is conducted in every organization or company to correct and improve the quality of their services.

The job of a quality analyst has many roles. The extent of quality assurance and analysis required in an organization depends on the nature of the business. For instance in a manufacturing firm, quality assurance personnel are placed in every department, right from procurements and production to sales and promotion. In other words, every aspect of a company’s routine requires timely quality analysis so as to ensure proper conduct of all the important activities.

On-job training courses are conducted at the expense of the company for its employees. It is a great way to upgrade the quality and technical know-how of the existing work force. It is an effective tool to increase the overall productivity of an organization without adding to the existing workforce. Technical jobs like IT and software companies require frequent on-job training. The norms and techniques applied in a software industry undergo constant changes in an effort to produce better and competitive software solutions for the clients. Same is the case of IT jobs wherein the nature of the information and their processing technology is subjected to frequent changes to match with the new demands adapted by the client organizations.

Different types of on-job QA training sessions vary in duration. The nature of training depends on the job profile. Generally in financial institutions, the employees are asked to attend a weeks training after every quarter of the year. The training is usually based on the quarterly performance of the company. In such training sessions, the trainers help the employees in evaluating the quality of their work. This primarily helps them in finding major flaws, if any, in their quality of their service. A QA course is also aimed at equipping the employees with improved technical procedures and processing methods which helps in accelerating their performance rate and improving the overall production quality.

Finding the right kind of QA course is very essential. There are also many institutional training centers that conduct a variety of QA courses for employees and business executives. Such training centers ally with various organizations and corporate sectors and assist them in promoting their business standards in return for a fixed remuneration. Every office or company may not posses the infrastructure required for conducting courses for their employees. In such cases employees are sent to other branches or corporate head offices to attain the training.

In most companies QA training is mandatory; however, there are certain exceptions in certain sectors. For instance in BPOs advanced QA training programs are conducted only for interested employees or employers who wish to progress in their career. Jobs in such sectors are demanding in nature and all the employees might not be in a position to handle more responsibilities. However, basic training to maintain the quality of their routine work is mandatory for all employees.
