During this process the professional also monitors the placement of the material in an effort to ensure that there are no gaps or valleys in the surface.

The pile driver units can be found on oil rigs and are also used to drive what are called piles into the ground and riverbeds. These piles consist of either steel or wooden construction. The piles are used to support retaining walls, piers or building foundations. Valves and foot levers are common ways of operating pile driver units.
