Schools, colleges, community centres and parish halls all seem to order new whiteboards at this time of year. We have drywipe boards coming out our ears. We like to think of ourselves as experts when it comes to the different styles and types of whiteboards. There can be a huge price difference between white boards that look exactly the same to the naked eye.
So what do you have to look out for when buying a whiteboard? Well it totally depends on what your usage will be like. Will you use it once a week to update sales figures or will you use it 100 times a day in a teaching environment.
Office White boards: If you are buying a dry wipe whiteboard for the office then you don’t need to spend a fortune. A standard melamine version with an aluminium trim will do just fine. It will be functional, will look well and will last for years as long as you don’t over use the surface. School and College Whiteboards: Well these are a totally different kettle of fish. Quality is all important when it comes to whiteboards. Classroom Whiteboards will need to be made from enamel. This is because they are used so frequently. They are constantly on the go. It’s quite simple; if you buy cheap whiteboards and install them in a school or college then you are throwing your money away. You need an enamel whiteboard.
