For someone who is just beginning to rock climb, there are rock climbing tips that should be followed while they are still in those beginning stages. These rock climbing tips are best taught by an instructor and learned in the safety of a rock climbing gym rather than out doors. The best rock climbing tip is to get a certified instructor for at least the first few times in the rock climbing gym, and then to practice on different walls to obtain the practice in the various hand and foot holds as well as the reaches and other techniques that are used in the sport. This will increase the person’s strength and agility so that when they participate for the first time outside, they will have a much easier time of it as well as being safer. The first rock climbing tip that should be heeded each time that the person is going on a climb is to thoroughly stretch out the body so that there is not as high a likelihood of cramping while on the climb. If the muscles and ligaments are tight during a climb, not only can they cramp up, but they can also become fatigued more easily than well stretched and warmed up muscles.

Another rock climbing tip is that the person should work on developing a sense of balance in all directions. Normally the balance is only needed in two directions but on the wall, there is a front and back balance as well as a left and right balance. In order to do the different holds and reaches, the person needs to be secure on the wall and in balance at all times.

Planning the route up the side of the rock also needs to be developed according to rock climbing tips. The person needs to always be looking one step ahead, and should have a good idea of the route when still at the bottom of the face of the rock. By planning ahead, he can adjust the course while climbing if conditions do not turn out to be what they originally appeared to be. This also helps to allow the climber to balance better and save on forearm strength for the course of the climb so that he can last to the top.
